The Byocycles Chameleon is a compact 20-inch folding electric bike built around a lightweight 6061 aluminium low-step frame that drops down in seconds for the boot, train or under a desk. A 36V 250W MXUS rear hub motor delivers smooth pedal-assist, with a frame-mounted 36V Lithium-ion battery (10Ah as standard, 7.8Ah and 13Ah options) giving a realistic range of roughly 35-50 miles per charge and a recharge time of around 4-5 hours.
Riding hardware is honest commuter spec: a 6-speed Shimano Tourney derailleur, front and rear V-brakes with motor cut-out levers, full-length mudguards, a rear carrier rack and integrated lighting. At roughly 20.5-22kg it stays manageable to lift and store.
- Folds in seconds for storage and mixed-mode commuting
- 250W hub motor with multi-level pedal-assist and a thumb throttle
- Removable 36V battery with up to ~50 mile range
- Practical kit: rack, mudguards and lights fitted as standard
Note: the assisted pedalling mode meets the UK 250W / 15.5mph EAPC limit, but the full-power thumb throttle is not EAPC-compliant, so use the throttle off-road or on private land only.
