The Emu Crossbar Step-Through is a relaxed city e-bike built around a low aluminium-alloy frame that makes mounting and dismounting easy, ideal for shorter riders, commuters and anyone who would rather step on than swing a leg over. A 36V 250W Shengyi front hub motor delivers smooth pedal assistance up to 25 km/h, managed through an LCD display with five assist levels and a handy USB charging port.

Power comes from a Samsung battery integrated into the down tube, available in 10.4Ah or 14.5Ah, giving a real-world range of roughly 30 to 60 miles. The Enviolo stepless hub gear lets you shift to the perfect ratio at any moment, even at a standstill, while Tektro V-brakes with power cut-off levers and 700c puncture-resistant tyres keep things safe and low-maintenance.

As a 250W, 15.5 mph pedal-assist EAPC, it is fully road-legal in the UK with no licence, tax or insurance required.

UK road-legal (EAPC)

This electric bike meets UK Electrically Assisted Pedal Cycle (EAPC) requirements: a 250W motor providing pedal-assistance that cuts off at 15.5 mph (25 km/h). It can be ridden on UK roads, cycle paths and bridleways with no licence, registration, road tax or insurance required, by riders aged 14 or over.

  • Motor & Battery — 2 years (capacity guarantee: ≥60 % after 500 charge cycles)
