The Bafang BBS01B is the original mid-drive conversion unit and remains the benchmark for legal UK bike conversions. Rated at 36V 250W continuous, it drives through your bottom bracket so the motor’s torque is multiplied by your gears — giving smooth, natural-feeling assistance on hills without straining the motor. This kit is supplied with pedal-assist (PAS) plus a 6km/h walk-assist function and no full hand throttle, which keeps it road-legal in the UK (EAPC). Fits a standard threaded BSA bottom bracket and centres the weight low and central for balanced handling. Includes the motor unit, lockring spanner, chainring, brake levers with motor cut-off, PAS sensor, display and wiring loom. Ideal for commuters, tourers and anyone wanting a discreet, dependable assist. Road-legal in the UK (EAPC) when used with 250W rating, pedal-assist and 6km/h walk-assist only.
This electric bike meets UK Electrically Assisted Pedal Cycle (EAPC) requirements: a 250W motor providing pedal-assistance that cuts off at 15.5 mph (25 km/h). It can be ridden on UK roads, cycle paths and bridleways with no licence, registration, road tax or insurance required, by riders aged 14 or over.

No. EAPC (Electrically Assisted Pedal Cycle) e-bikes are legal on UK roads without a licence, insurance, or registration, provided the motor assists only while pedalling and is limited to 250 W / 15.5 mph.
Range depends on the battery size, rider weight, terrain, and assist level. Check the specific product specification for its stated range; typical figures are 40–120 miles per charge.
Most batteries charge in 3–6 hours from flat using the supplied charger. Fast-charge options (where available) can halve this time.
Yes. Our bikes carry an IP rating (see spec tab) and are designed for UK weather. Avoid submerging the battery or motor. Dry and lightly oil the drivetrain after wet rides.
