Bafang Compatibility Guide – Which Bikes Fit BBS02 and BBSHD?

Not all bikes are compatible with Bafang mid-drive kits. This guide explains what to check before ordering a Bafang BBS01B, BBS02B, or BBSHD conversion kit.

Bottom Bracket Compatibility

All Bafang BBS-series kits require a threaded (BSA) bottom bracket shell. Standard sizes: 68mm (most road/MTB/hybrid bikes), 73mm (full-suspension MTB), 100mm (fat bikes). Not compatible with press-fit (PF30, BB86, BB92) or Shimano Steps integrated shells.

Frame Clearance

Minimum recommended chainstay clearance is 45mm. Contact us if you are unsure – we can advise based on your frame make and model.
